Appeal A Parking Charge

Please first read our Parking Charge FAQs before deciding whether appealing your charge is the best course of action for you.

Now please check your ticket to ensure it was issued by Central Parking Management, and not UK Car Park Management (who use the abbreviation “CPM” on their tickets but are a different company) If your ticket was issued by UK Parking Management they are a different company and we cannot help you. Their website is: www.uk-carparkmanagement.co.uk.

Please note that photographic evidence is taken at the time of issuing a Parking Charge.

Grounds For Appeal

Please note that grounds for appeal are limited, and exclude the following:

  1. You have a valid parking permit, but it was not visible
  2. You were unaware that it is a valid permit display area
  3. You were only parked for a few minutes
  4. You only stopped for a few minutes to see family/friends
  5. You have only just purchased the car and have not had time to get a valid parking permit
  6. You could not find anywhere else to park
  7. You thought you were correctly parked, but made a mistake
  8. You did not realise you had overstayed the time limit
  9. Parking with a valid parking permit but in an incorrect bay
  10. Parking outside of the bay boundary lines

If you believe that you were lawfully parked at the time of the Charge and not contravening the Terms & Conditions of the parking area, you will be required to provide evidence of this.

How to Appeal

If, having read all the above information, you wish to appeal then please note that we do not ever take nor discuss appeals by telephone. For legal reasons everything must be done in writing. We ask you to please appeal online.

Making a Complaint

If you feel that you have grounds for a complaint then you should send an email to: complaints@cpm.uk

Vehicle Registration Number
Your full name & address
The grounds for your complaint

Grounds for a complaint might include that you were mistreated by an employee of Central Parking Management, or that we have not followed our own procedures correctly.

We will, of course, take every complaint seriously, but you should note that this will not affect the validity of your parking charge nor the outcome of your appeal, if you have made one; Complaints and Appeals are separate processes.
